Nina Safane
Co-Founder

As a passionate advocate for gender equity and education, Nina Safane co-founded GALS Denver in 2009 with the vision of redefining how young women engage with learning. She saw the opportunity to merge her interests in gender studies, sports, and equitable education into a single institution where girls could grow academically, physically, and emotionally. Throughout her time at GALS, she took on multiple leadership roles, including serving as Head of Middle School, where she helped shape the school’s culture and curriculum.

Nina’s dedication to Whole-Bodied Education stems from her belief that movement and learning go hand in hand. By integrating physical activity into academics, she helped create a model that not only improves student engagement but also fosters self-confidence and resilience. With degrees from Brown University and Columbia University’s Summer Principal Academy, she has spent her career championing educational initiatives that empower young women to break barriers and lead with strength. Her legacy at GALS continues to inspire students and educators alike to embrace a more holistic approach to learning.
